Introducing The Zones of Regulation

This term we have implemented The Zones of Regulation across school. This is a program that helps children to self-regulation when they are experiencing a heightened emotion. The Zones curriculum provides strategies to teach children to become more aware of, and independent in controlling their emotions and impulses, managing their sensory needs, and improving their ability to problem solve conflicts. All children and staff in school are now using the language of the Zones and we are all improving our methods for achieving self-regulation. It is an important journey for both children and staff and we are delighted with how the children have responded. If you would like further information about The Zones of Regulation, please follow the link above to the SEND Information page where you will find resources and our school Zones of Regulation policy which will provide further explanation.
