EYFS on the climbing wall
During their physical development, our reception children enjoyed using the climbing wall. We were exploring how rainforest animals move, focusing on a monkey in this lesson.
Mini First Aiders
Congratulations to all of our children for completing their Mini First Aiders Training! Everyone had a great time and learned lots of vital life saving skills. All children took part, listened really well and got involved in the workshops. Well done!

The children were amazing in this year's Nativity. Teachers, staff and parents were very proud of you all!
A big thank you to all of the children and parents who took part in our ‘Crazy Hair Day’ for Children in Need. The children looked fantastic! We had a cake sale at break and lunchtime – we raised lots of money!
A big thank you to Sarah, the police officer from Derbyshire Police for coming to talk to us in our whole school assembly about keeping ourselves safe when online.

EYFS and Key Stage One have been learning all about Bonfire Night this week, and what they can do to protect each-other and animals. We were extremely lucky at Street Lane to have a visit from our local Fire Fighters on Bonfire Night – the children loved being able to try on all the gear and even hopped into the truck!
Our Ofsted report has been published.
We are very proud of our whole school community – well done to everyone!
Thank you to all who came to our Spooky Spectacular open morning. The children all looked amazing in their costumes, and they enjoyed showing you their classrooms and work. We all enjoyed our Halloween themed Wakey Shakey dance and made sure that we danced to it again at the disco. The pumpkin carving competition was fantastic and it was very hard to choose the winners. Thank you to all those who entered!
A huge thank you to all of our families who donated food to our collection for The Salvation Army. Major Vincent Wall visited us in school today to thank our children and to take the food back to the food bank. The food will be divided into food parcels to support families in our local community. We are very proud of our children for their kindness and enthusiasm towards helping others.
Years 1-6 enjoyed a visit to Derby Cathedral to view the Gaia artwork. The Gaia is a touring artwork of planet earth. Our children enjoyed the opportunity to see our planet to scale and learn about Derby Cathedral when we carried out an ‘I Spy’ activity around the cathedral hunting for artifacts.
We were so excited today to welcome Ben and his friend coach Jack to our school. Ben talked to each of our classes and answered the children’s questions. The children then got to train with a professional footballer and pick up some skills. Finally after school it was penalty shootout time. Ben saved some goals but our children managed to score some goals. We will announce the winner of the signed t-shirt on Friday! Good luck!
We are collecting donations of tins, dried food, packets, biscuits, tea and coffee and also kitchen pans and utensils to support the people in need in our local community. Any donations gratefully received at the school office.
